About

Todd Stephenson is a lifelong ACT supporter and a champion for personal freedom and opportunity. Born in Lumsden and raised across rural Southland, Todd grew up with a deep respect for hard work and community values. He studied law at the University of Otago and later broadened his understanding of public policy with further studies at the London School of Economics.

For nearly 20 years, Todd built a successful career in Australia’s healthcare sector, most recently serving as Director of Patient Engagement and Experience for Johnson & Johnson in Australia and New Zealand. That work deepened his commitment to making systems work better for people, building trust, and empowering individuals.

An ACT member since the party’s very beginning, Todd has campaigned and supported the movement for decades. In 2023, he was elected to Parliament, where he now brings a strong voice for fairness, transparency, and better outcomes for all New Zealanders.

Outside politics, Todd enjoys hiking and travelling, and is passionate about protecting the freedoms and opportunities that make New Zealand a place where people can thrive.

“Each person must be judged as an individual by reference to the person’s own personality, character and actions and not as a member of a group defined by race, gender, sexuality, religion, political belief or other group characteristic.”
