What do Labour's education reforms mean to you?

Local communities have controlled schools through parent-elected Boards of Trustees for 30 years.

That local control is under threat from the Government's Tomorrow's Schools Review which proposes the most radical changes in education since 1989.

Keep Our Schools Local is ACT's campaign to keep parents and communities in control of education.

Labour’s proposed Yesterday’s Schools reforms will drag our education sector back to the 1970s with Ministry of Education hubs exercising greater control over schools. This includes the ability to govern areas such as school property, health & safety and reducing the accountability of principals to the parent run Boards of Trustees.

Hosted by ACT Leader David Seymour, Vice President and Deputy Leader Beth Houlbrooke, and Board Member Stephen Berry.
