I come from a background of service to country and community. My father served in the NZ SAS. My grandfather was a Lieutenant in the trenches in France. My mother was a seamstress and shopworker and a giver of her boundless energy to church, community and many others. In this home, my brother and I grew up to value serving others and seeing what that looked like every day.
Business and economics drew me to accounting. A profession that afforded me the opportunity to travel and immerse myself in other cultures. And to experience what good and bad looks like, both in communities and in organisations.
I returned to New Zealand in 2016 with a strong desire to use what I had learned and to start to give back. I have watched our current government fail to live up to our expectations and fail to deliver on its promises.
My values are closely aligned with the policies and principles of the ACT Party. I strongly identify with a practical, non-intrusive government that is simple, transparent, and sensible. I think ACT is the right fit for me and the right fit for New Zealand.
