Nigel Elder is a Councillor on the Greater Wellington Regional Council and a governance and business leader with more than 30 years' experience across military service, business, and infrastructure.

Nigel has served in both the British Army's Parachute Regiment and the New Zealand Army, with operational deployments to Afghanistan and the Solomon Islands. He also brings extensive private sector experience across agriculture, the wine industry, and export markets.

A Hutt Valley resident for more than 12 years, Nigel brings a practical, results-focused perspective to ACT's vision for New Zealand. He is committed to fiscal discipline, individual freedom, accountable government, and restoring common sense to public decision-making. Outside politics, Nigel is a passionate Hurricanes supporter.
