Antonia Modkova is an intellectual property lawyer, computer scientist, and Director of Intellectual Property and Innovation at Soul Machines, where she has helped build one of New Zealand’s leading AI patent portfolios across more than 10 jurisdictions.

Ranked number 12 on ACT’s Party List at the 2023 election, Antonia was born in Bulgaria and brought to New Zealand as a child following the fall of communism. Her family’s experience taught her the value of freedom, democracy, and personal responsibility. Her passion for innovation, combined with frustration at unnecessary bureaucracy, led her to ACT and its vision for a freer, more ambitious New Zealand.
