“I’m launching ACT’s campaign to Make Farming Fun Again, because I’ve spent more than 20 years farming and have seen first-hand what happens when people in Wellington, who don’t understand farming, try to regulate every part of it,” says ACT Agriculture spokesperson Andrew Hoggard.

“Labour’s announcement today confirms ACT’s diagnosis that a disease has set into New Zealand politics, with every other party now competing to scare off investment by threatening interventions much worse than the oil and gas ban,” says ACT Leader David Seymour.

ACT will open electricity networks to competition, give New Zealanders more freedom to generate and sell power, and make monopoly lines companies prove consumers are getting value before loading more costs onto their power bills, says ACT spokesperson for Energy and Resources Simon Court.

“Victoria University has been caught taking compulsory fees from students and handing $1,700 to the university branch of the Labour Party. This is exactly why ACT will make Student Services Fees voluntary,” says ACT Tertiary Education spokesperson Dr Parmjeet Parmar.

“GDP figures showing the economy grew 0.2 per cent in the June quarter are good, but we need to go further and faster if we are going to balance the books and secure Kiwi households’ prosperity,” says ACT Leader David Seymour.
