Kiwis overseas - your vote starts here

“Overseas voting opens today, and if you are a New Zealand citizen who has been home in the last three years, you can vote in this year's election. I am asking for your Party Vote for ACT,” says ACT Leader David Seymour.

“Many overseas New Zealanders still care deeply about what happens here.

“Too many talented Kiwis feel pushed overseas. Yet New Zealand has world-beating potential. Look at companies like Rocket Lab, Zuru, Xero, Halter, and Sharesies – brilliant New Zealand businesses taking on the world. We need an economy that builds much more of them, so that coming home is an exciting choice, not a financial sacrifice. 

“New Zealand should be a country you are proud to come home to.

“That means leadership that respects your rights. To have an effective, affordable Government that offers world-class education and healthcare. And should you return, an economy that rewards your effort with wages to match.

“ACT has spent the last three years in Government working to unlock that potential. We’ve made a real start, but we need more ACT MPs to go further and faster.

“If you’re living abroad for now, here is what ACT is doing to ensure New Zealand remains a country you can be proud of, a place worth returning to, and a safe home for your family and assets while you’re away:

• Better pay, higher wages: Higher wages come from a more productive economy - one where businesses can innovate, invest and grow. ACT will keep cutting red tape so Kiwi businesses can compete globally and pay salaries that make coming home an attractive career move.

• Protecting your assets and loved ones: ACT will continue to push and protect your family property from both crime and the government with tougher consequences for criminals and no new taxes.


• Better healthcare for your family back home in New Zealand, and when you return: ACT will close the gap with Australia and build a world-class dedicated National Cancer Centre.

• Your KiwiSaver: ACT will remove tax on KiwiSaver investment earnings, letting your savings compound faster while you’re working abroad. 


• Less red tape, smarter government: ACT will continue to make government leaner and more efficient. ACT’s Brooke van Velden slashed passport waiting times by getting Internal Affairs to remove unnecessary steps and work smarter.
