Jacinda Ardern will be the last one left in Australia

“Stats NZ data released today shows that people do not want to live in a country with a Labour Government that wants to tax the bejeezus out of them, on this side of the Tasman we need to lock Labour out to unlock New Zealand's potential,” says ACT Leader David Seymour.

“Stats NZ data shows the number of New Zealand citizens moving offshore dropped 4.7% in the year to April, while the number of New Zealand citizens moving back rose 7.1%.

“Australia has a Labour Government that is widening their Capital Gains Tax to capture more revenue. You can’t tax your way to prosperity, but you can drive ambitious people out of your country if you target success.

“At this rate, Jacinda Ardern might be the last Kiwi left over there.

“New Zealand’s GDP rose 0.8% in the March quarter, while Australia’s GDP growth slowed to just 0.3%. It’s almost as if the Australian Government are going out of their way to close the wage gap between our countries.

“New Zealand cannot afford another government that spends without thinking about the consequences and tries to tax the problem away. Labour and the Greens have the same ideas as the Australians but even more radical, if we let them back in, you’ll be able to hear the stampede of ambitious Kiwis heading for the departure gate.

“We don’t have a revenue problem, but a spending problem. ACT has driven the change that has helped get New Zealand back to surplus a year earlier than expected. The Government hasn’t gone as far as ACT would alone in reducing spending, but it’s gone a lot further than it would without ACT.
