Green hypocrisy: promising jobs while willing job-creators to leave

“The Greens' ‘economic development’ plan is hypocritical, saying the Government will create jobs fuelled by tax and debt, even as they gleefully wish job creators out of the country,” says ACT Leader David Seymour.

“The Greens' ‘economic development’ plan is hypocritical, saying the Government will create jobs fuelled by tax and debt, even as they gleefully wish job creators out of the country,” says ACT Leader David Seymour.

“Last week, a successful business owner who employs hundreds asked me to tell the Greens that he couldn't afford to pay half a million dollars more tax under their policies. He said he would leave if they got in.

“I put it to Marama Davidson and she gleefully beamed ‘ka kite.’ You can’t say you’re a jobs champion and then celebrate real job creators leaving the country.

“The Greens are destroyers of wealth and peddlers of envy. Their policies amount to telling voters ‘your problems were caused by someone else’s success, so vote for us and we’ll take it off them.’

“There’s a reason generations of New Zealand children have learned the story of the Golden Goose. It is how each generation warns the next against policies like the Greens’.

“New Zealand’s future depends on political courage, leadership, and honesty. It requires balancing the books without new taxes, and fostering an economy where people are rewarded for working hard, saving, and investing.

“Cutting tax from Kiwisaver returns is the most pro-growth tax cut in a generation, because taxes on saving are the most damaging of all. That is how you create real jobs and growth, not fake ones fuelled by Government borrowing.

“More ACT in the next Government will secure New Zealand’s prosperity. A change of Government would ensure people like the employer I referenced fueling prosperity in another country like Australia.”
