Laura McClure is an ACT Party list MP and a strong advocate for innovation, liberty, and practical, real-world solutions. Born and raised in Christchurch, she has a deep connection to her community where she raises her young family.
Before entering Parliament, Laura led Fire Safety Net Ltd, where she drove the development of innovative emergency response and planning solutions. Her background in business shapes her pragmatic approach to policy, with a strong focus on backing New Zealand’s small and medium enterprises.
In Parliament, Laura is a champion for SMEs and the use of innovation and technology to help businesses grow, create jobs, and cut through unnecessary red tape. Her portfolios include Business & Manufacturing, Education, Mental Health, Disability, and Foreign Affairs.
A proud New Zealander, Laura believes smaller government, fewer regulations, free markets, and strong local communities are the foundation of a prosperous New Zealand. As a member of the Foreign Affairs, Trade & Defence Committee, she supports strong international relationships and open trade to secure New Zealand’s future.
