About
Born in Lower Hutt and raised in Rotorua before returning to Wellington, Nicole has a background in law and a deep commitment to community. Before entering Parliament, she ran her own business delivering firearms safety training in rural areas for New Zealand Police. She had also been the Firearms and Hunter Safety Programme Manager for the New Zealand Mountain Safety Council, supporting and training their national volunteers. Nicole was the spokesperson for the Council of Licenced Firearms Owners at the time of the Christchurch Mosque attacks and she became known for standing up for fair and balanced firearms laws.
Nicole is married with four grown children, is proud of her Ngapuhi heritage and makes her home in Eastern Suburbs of Wellington. She enjoys hunting, knitting, wool spinning and her sports. Nicole has represented New Zealand in two shooting disciplines on multiple occasions over the last two decades. She sees shooting sports as a way to build discipline, community and self-reliance – values she takes with her into politics.
Nicole is passionate about protecting the freedoms that allow Kiwis to live safely, responsibly, with dignity and with pride. Whether advocating for fair justice policy or cheering on her children, Nicole brings a practical, down-to-earth approach to her work in Parliament.

“Legal firearm owners became the new outlaws, fruitlessly justifying their legitimacy while the real outlaws continued with their crimes.”
