About
Mark Cameron is the authentic voice of rural New Zealand. A proud dairy farmer from Ruawai in Northland, Mark has lived and worked on the land for over 30 years. In 2020, he took a change of pace by entering Parliament as an ACT Party Member of Parliament, determined to represent the people and communities he knows best.
Mark understands the pressures farmers face — from mental health challenges to dealing with government inspectors turning up on the farm. He has seen firsthand how policy decisions affect real people on the ground. No party in recent times has sent a professional farmer, still milking cows every morning, to fight for rural New Zealand in Parliament. While his family helps manage the farm, Mark remains firmly connected to the land, keeping his hands dirty whenever he can.
Mark is deeply committed to protecting the future of rural communities across Aotearoa. Whether in the milking shed or debating in the House, Mark brings an authentic, practical voice to Parliament — standing up for the backbone of New Zealand.

“There is a sadly ever-widening divide between urban and rural New Zealand… Rural New Zealand deserves better than being told to desist and diversify by people with so little experience on how farming and industry actually works."
