Simplify Easter Trading rules

Whether it’s going shopping or having a pint at your local, Kiwis have been frustrated every Easter Friday and Sunday with maddening red tape that dictates how you spend your long weekend.

MPs will soon have the chance to vote on Cameron Luxton's member's bill to reform Easter Trading rules, allowing Kiwis who want to trade over Easter to do so. Existing protections for workers to refuse to work on Easter Sunday will be expanded to Good Friday.

"I call on Members of Parliament to support the Repeal of Good Friday and Easter Sunday as Restricted Trading Days (Shop Trading and Sale of Alcohol) Amendment Bill."
