With trust in traditional media at an all-time low, it’s no wonder New Zealanders are seeking news and information online.

Media companies need to stand on their own feet and improve their offerings, reporting fairly and honestly to regain trust.

But new legislation – the Fair Digital News Bargaining Bill – is set to give failing media companies ongoing handouts, funded by new levies on their online competitors.

ACT is standing alone against the proposed bailouts, so we need your support to convince the other parties.

“I call on Parliament to reject government handouts for media companies, including those proposed under the Fair Digital News Bargaining Bill.”
