Labour's cost of living crisis

Labour's out-of-control borrowing, spending and taxing has pushed up the price of everything. Kiwis now face a cost of living crisis.

Doing the groceries, filling up the car and paying the rent is more expensive - but wages aren't keeping up. On top of that, Labour’s hitting you with new taxes.

Inflation is at a 34-year high and it's expected to go 6 per cent higher. A litre of 91 petrol is now $2.50. The Government's tax haul of $97 billion this year was a record.

Kiwis are are being squeezed from every direction.

ACT's middle-class tax cut

ACT has common-sense solutions to Labour's cost of living crisis.

We will get borrowing, spending and debt down to control prices. We'll stop loading businesses up with new rules and regulations.

And we will provide tax relief to help with the cost of living. Our plan would cut the 30 per cent tax rate to 17.5 per cent, giving a worker on the average wage a $2,000 tax cut.
