Local communities have controlled schools through parent-elected Boards of Trustees for 30 years.

That local control is under threat from the Government's Tomorrow's Schools Review which proposes the most radical changes in education since 1989.

Keep Our Schools Local is ACT's campaign to keep parents and communities in control of education. 

ACT Leader David Seymour, Vice President and Deputy Leader Beth Houlbrooke, and Board Member Stephen Berry will host a number of meetings around Auckland to ensure the views of parents and communities are heard on the proposed changes to education.
