A very brief Ad Lib from me this week as I attend to pressing work in my day job. It’s a local government election year and things are really heating up. Another thing that’s heating up is our upcoming re-launch.
ACT RE-LAUNCH EVENT
I have been fortunate to be involved in this transformational project over the past year and a half. Since the 2017 election, as a three-time candidate, past ACT board member, Deputy Leader, and now Vice-President, we’ve conducted a survey and met with members up and down the country, had staff and volunteer workshops, board workshops, and are now GO to relaunch.
There’s been a small team dedicated to making sure this event is one not to be missed. It will be unlike any other ACT conference you’ve ever attended (or not attended).
It’s a ticketed event and numbers are limited, so you can’t just rock up. Book your ticket(s) now to ensure your place, and be part of this exciting moment in ACT history.
FRIDAY PROCRASTINATION TOOL
A neat little quiz from a political website which aggregates polls, tracks the popularity of New Zealand politicians on social media, and offers a custom political values test designed for Kiwis.
Try it, it’s still under development and the creator welcomes constructive suggestions for improvements – firstname.lastname@example.org.
YOU CAN’T SAY THAT!
I happened to hear this live while driving between Auckland and Warkworth earlier this week. I nearly ran off the road! Listen and enjoy, from Ryan Bridge on Magic Talk.
REMINDER: BUBBLES WITH BETH
Would you like to meet up in person? I’m planning a get-together at St Heliers in Auckland on Saturday 18 May from 4.00 – 5.45 pm for anyone interested.
It’s called ‘Beach, bubbles and banter with Beth Houlbrooke’ at the wonderful La Vista Mediterranean restaurant. Located on Tamaki Drive, over-looking the beautiful St Heliers beach. Numbers are limited so RSVP is essential, but feel free to bring a +1. Cash bar available. Hosted by Stephen Berry, Auckland Central South Board Member.
Deputy Leader / Vice President
for free speech, free trade, smaller government, lower taxes
