PM kids herself over land grab

Helen Clark’s kidding herself if she thinks Labour’s land access legislation doesn’t impact on farmers’ property rights, ACT Rural Affairs spokesmen Gerry Eckhoff said today.

“Labour’s land grab is the single largest threat to landowners’ property rights this country has ever seen,” Mr Eckhoff said.

“Labour is proposing to remove the right of farmers to say who may or may not be on their property.

“If that’s not an attack on farmers’ property rights, I don’t know what is.

“If Helen Clark allowed the public to use her property as a matter of public interest her right to privacy would not exist.

“She has completely lost touch of reality if she believes that the property right of quiet
enjoyment and exclusive use will still exist if the proposed access legislation is passed.

“This is an arrogant abuse of her executive power for personal benefit,” Mr Eckhoff said.
