The title of Emma’s speech is “Can I really chose who to vote for?"

Emma Gibbs is a geneticist and biochemist specializing in the genes involved in the conversion of short term to long term memory in the hippocampus of the brain. Most of this research was done in the lab of Prof Eric Kandel, Columbia University, nobel prize winner 2001.

1998 - 2003 Howard Hughes postdoctoral research scholar in Neuroscience, Columbia University, New York, in laboratory of Eric Kandel, Nobel prize winner 2001.

1991 - 1998 PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology, (First class honours), Cornell University, New York.
1989 - 1991 Masters degree in biochemistry and molecular biology, (First class honours), Auckland University, New Zealand.
