Action at The Farm
This event is open to ACT Party members, supporters and non members. It's a great opportunity to invite people along to learn about ACT in an informal setting. Jim Hopkins, MC extraordinaire, will compere in his own inimitable way the political section in the afternoon.
The Farm is a 1000 acre Sculpture Park on SH16, about 13kms north of Kaukapakapa bordering the Kaipara Harbour: The Farm freatures major works by national and internationally renowned artists. The site-specific art works interact strongly with the landscape and the ever-changing light, creating a lasting impression on all visitors to The Farm.
Among the art works installed on The Farm are monumental pieces by contemporary artists;
- Horizons by Neil Dawson
- The Mermaid by Marijke de Goey (1999)
- Te Tuhirangi Contour by Richard Serra (1999/2001)
- Arches by Andy Goldsworthy (2005)
- Dismemberment Stage 1 by Anish Kapoor (2009)
In addition, the exotic animals of The Farm, including giraffes, zebras, water buffalo, and yaks, create living sculptures, and Alan's Aquada car...well, that's a technological sculpture in a class of its own!
There will be entertainment at 'The Barn' from 2.30-3.30pm - bring your wallet for this part of the day, there will be refreshments available for purchase.
